The cold temperatures this past Saturday did not stop hundreds of Clarence-Rockland residents, and many from out of town, from attending the Autism Awareness Vendor Event at The Bourget Community. As co-organizer Ann Alyse Fournier told Derrick Scott during a live interview Friday, both organizers have close friends, and family members that suffer from autism. It is one of many reason why both Ann Alyse, and her co-organizer Julie Villeneuve St. Denis organized the event.
After costs associated with bringing this show to our area, both organizers are happy to announce that $2,130.00 was raised for the Ottawa Chapter of Autism Ontario.
A message from co-organizer Julie Villeneuve St. Denis
We would like to thank all our amazing vendors for participating and being kind and patient with us. We would like to thank all our volunteer helpers who helped us with set up and take down and all day long at the event. We want to thank all of the people who stopped by to say hello. Also those that participated in our auctions, raffles and 50/50. We want to thank Derrick Scott Scott from Jewel 92.5 for being a big part of our event and the success. And last but definitively not least, we want to thank our first Rockland Scouts for not only serving food, talking to people, but for all the help putting all the tables and chairs back in the hall for us. A great event was possible because of everyone who was involved in one way or another.
Word has it both Julie and Ann Alyse are already planning another fundraising event for the spring.
