Back To Back Watching May Cost You More – But When?

Extra usage, from electricity, fuel, comes with an added cost to consumers, and this concept may be coming to Netflix. The company is currently testing a new pricing system that will make it more expensive to binge watch on the weekends.  According to mashable.com, the test is currently being run with Australia’s Netflix customers. They are being charged anywhere from $1 to $3 more per month to binge watch on the weekends.

Update, Netflix released a statement based on the article from mashable.com:

We continuously test new things at Netflix and these tests typically vary in length of time. In this case, we are testing slightly different price points to better understand how consumers value Netflix. Not everyone will see this test and we may not ever offer it generally. Reports that we are testing “weekend-only” pricing are inaccurate and entirely false. As our statement clearly states, this testing varies in length and time and the fact that some members saw this test on a weekend is completely unrelated. This test is limited to Australia only.
