An oyster farmer from France, named Tony Berthelot, has created an oyster vending machine. It dispenses live oysters 24 hours a day, 7 days a week on the Île de Ré island off France’s western coast. The machine accepts credit cards and offers oysters in different shapes and sizes.
The stock is replaced daily and the oysters sold closed to avoid any health risks. Prices are the same as in the couple’s adjoining shop, starting at just over $10 for a dozen.
