During the week of October 14 through to October 20, 2019, officers with the Russell County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to 327 calls for service. The calls for service included:
Motorist charged for driving while impaired by alcohol
On October 14, 2019, at approximately 12:30 a.m., Russell County OPP officers responded to a traffic complaint on Principale Street in Casselman, Ontario.
During the investigation, the officer utilized the ASD on the driver.
As a result of the investigation, Keegan JOHNSON, 29-years-old, from Casselman, Ontario was arrested and charged with:
- Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus) CC 320.14(1)(b) and
- Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs CC 320.14(1)(a)
The accused received a 90 day driver’s license suspension and the vehicle was also impounded for seven days. The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in L’Orignal on November 6, 2019.
Suspect charged for robbery and uttering threats
On October 20, 2019, at approximately 9:45 p.m., a Russell County OPP officer responded to a robbery complaint on Richelieu Street in Rockland, Ontario.
During the investigation, the officer determined that an altercation occurred be tween two people.
As a result of the investigation, Jason ST-JACQUES, 18-years-old, from Clarence-Creek, Ontario was arrested and charged with:
- Robbery with violence CC 343(a) and
- Uttering Threats – Cause death or Bodily Harm CC 264.1(1)(a)
The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in L’Orignal on November 27, 2019.
