HP Lithium-ion Battery Recall

H-P Canada is recalling 26-hundred lithium-ion batteries used in notebook computers and mobile workstations because they can overheat and cause a fire hazard. The recalled Chinese-made batteries were either sold already installed, or separately as replacements. Consumers can go to the Health Canada website to see if their battery is affected. H-P Canada has not received any reports of incidents or injuries, but there have been eight reports of overheating batteries in the U-S and one reported injury.
