The weather for Sunday looks great, with a mix of sun and cloud perfect for the walkers and volunteers taking part in The Rockland Help Centre’s annual food drive to stock it’s shelves for the coming winter season. The committee is putting out a call for volunteers.
Over 200 volunteers will be going door to door ringing bells and singing carols from 11:00 AM to 3:00 in the City of Clarence Rockland and surrounding area in what is known as the traditional “Guignolée” accepting donations for our local food bank.
All non-perishable food items are welcome, as well as donations in the form of cash or cheque.
Celebrating it’s 25th year of service to the community, the Rockland Help Centre provides help to over 250 families on a monthly basis.
“We need volunteers to assist us in our door to door food drive. We need walkers and drivers with SUV’s or pick-up trucks to canvass two or three streets between 11:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. The staging area is the L’Escale High School.”
Lunch and refreshments will be served to all volunteers at the L’Escale School cafeteria.
To be part of one of one the teams please call Alain at 613-804-6115 or Nicole at 613-446-7992.
