The Clarence-Rockland Public Library is proud to once again be presenting the Gala Once Upon a Time at the Rockland branch to raise funds for future Library development including new programs and services.
As you may recall the Gala, originally scheduled for May, was postponed due to the spring floods in our community. The Library staff worked side by side with other residents to give of their time and effort in helping those affected by the floods.
Seeing how giving this community was during its time of need was heartwarming and so appreciated. We hope this will continue and that the community will once again be supportive and attend the Library’s fundraising Gala Once Upon a Time.
On Saturday, October 5, 2019, at 7 PM the Library will host its second annual Once Upon a Time Gala, a fundraising event that is now a must in the Clarence-Rockland community. This year’s Gala promises to be a another memorable evening including a bilingual illusionist’s show, offered by Kayser Magic, a silent auction, wine and beer tasting, sophisticated starters and desserts, as well as music by DJ Marty.
This year’s Gala will be even more special due to the fact that the Clarence-Rockland Public Library is celebrating its 80th anniversary.
The Library has worked diligently to become a true pillar of the Clarence-Rockland community. For 80 years, we have offered high quality programs, services and reading materials, always with the greatest concern for accessibility. Indeed, let us reflect that the Library is the last free public place that allows everyone access to a vast array of human and material resources, including the Internet. This allows people both young and old, to imagine, explore and be inspired, as our motto indicates. We firmly believe that our institution contributes to the enrichment of the social, educational and democratic life of the Clarence-Rockland community.
“There are not many local events of this caliber here in Clarence-Rockland, so I invite you to take part in this very special evening. Our goal is to heighten awareness and make a difference in our community by contributing to the success of our Public Library. We all have a vital role to play in creating well equipped effective spaces, programs and services for all members of our community” stated Catherina Rouse, CEO of the CRPL. “We invite and encourage you to join us on October 5th in our efforts to make the Clarence-Rockland Public Library your community destination to learn, discover, imagine and play.”
