Maxime Bernier, the leader of The People’s Party, had a chat with Jewel Radio’s Brian Master the other night, talked about his party platform, and focused on his vision for the future.
He says he tried to work with the leader of Progressive Conservative party but decided to branch out and form his own party when he claimed Andrew Scheer wouldn’t listen to any of his ideas.
Mr. Bernier says he doesn’t believe focus groups or polling is needed to know what they stand for, saying that’s the reason why the PC government doesn’t have a platform, calling them morally corrupt.
Bernier added The People’s Party wants to focus on issues important to Canadians including more economic immigrants and less refugees.
Mr. Bernier, who’s held positions in law, financial and banking fields say the 4 principals his party focuses on are individual freedom, personal responsibility, respect and fairness.
After being elected, Mr. Bernier served as Minister of Industry, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Minister of State for Small Business and Tourism in the cabinet of then-Prime Minister Stephen Harper.
