Today is National Potato Chip Day. A study published in the Journal of Neuroscience reveals that they are good for you. Researchers say the snacks contain salt can lower the amount of stress hormones in the body. They raise the level of oxytocin, which is the hormone that gives us a feeling of comfort. We wonder if this is why many people will snack on them while driving, to be stress free. But snacking on your favourite potato chip while being the wheel can actually cause stress. A study by i-Kube reveals that potato chips are the most dangerous food to eat while driving followed by chocolate and soda pop, all based on distracted driving. So save your chips for an office snack, or while catching up on your favourite television series.
