Police are investigating a suspected murder-suicide in Ottawa. Officers were dispatched to a west-end home  early yesterday morning to investigate a 911 call about a man and a woman being shot. Multiple residents living near the MacFarlane Road home told stories of loud screaming matches between the couple, even reports of hearing pots and pans smashing against the walls. Police say the major crimes unit is investigating the incident as a murder-suicide. The couple’s identities are being withheld pending notification of next-of-kin.

A stolen  white Mercedes Sprinter  delivery van,  that had been stolen within the town of Hawkesbury, was located in Sainte-Anne-des-Lacs. The Hawkesbury OPP Crime Unit investigated and identified the male involved as 32-year-old Hysen Redenica of Whitby, Ontario. He was located and arrested by the South Porcupine OPP Detachment on Friday  near Iroquois Falls, Ontario.

Caroline Mulroney will seek the leadership of the embattled Ontario P-C Party. The Toronto lawyer and daughter of former Tory prime minister Brian Mulroney confirmed it in a series of interviews Sunday. She says, despite the recent turmoil following the sudden resignation of Patrick Brown, she believes the Conservatives can come together and win the June 7th provincial election. Mulroney believes she’s the candidate that can unite them — despite never having held elected office.
