A grant of over 506 thousand dollars was awarded to Valoris by the Ontario Trillium Foundation (OTF) and will be spread over three years. The money will be used to increase the accessibility of the The Positive Parenting Program or the Triple P program to the people of Prescott-Russell. MPP Grant Crack who was present for the announcement in Rockland congratulated Valoris saying the grant is a plus for the community enabling adults to be better equipped to prepare the younger ones to develop and help them grow into confident adults.

Toronto Police say that a 23-year-old Ottawa man has been charged with dangerous driving causing death, criminal negligence causing death, dangerous driving cause bodily harm and criminal negligence causing bodily harm. The collision happened on the Gardiner Expressway between a Hyundai Sonata and a BMW on March 21. Police said a 28-year-old passenger in the Hyundai was transported to hospital with life-threatening injuries, where he died the next day. Officials said the remaining occupants of the vehicles were taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Staff at an Ottawa arena are being credited with helping to save the life of a man who suffered a heart attack while playing hockey. Paramedics responded to a cardiac arrest call at Ray Friel Arena yesterday, after a man in his 50’s collapsed. An I-C-U nurse who was nearby initiated C-P-R while arena staff delivered shocks with a defibrillator. Resuscitation was continued by the paramedics before the man was taken to hospital.
