In The News For Clarence-Rockland — March 6, 2018

Commuters who use public transit will soon be able to buy or reload PRESTO fare cards at Shoppers Drug Mart locations. The cards are out  in the stores in the Toronto area first, coming to Ottawa in April.


An Ottawa man faces a murder charge in connection with a fatal stabbing on the weekend. Police say 23-year-old Kalen Bryan-Bradley was found stabbed to death inside his car in  the Billings Bridge parking lot Sunday night. Another man was also found injured in the area.  25-year-old Miles Krzyzewski man has been charged with second-degree murder.


There is still no electricity and another monster storm is fast approaching. That is the nightmare faced by tens of thousands of people up and down the U-S East Coast, where extended power outages continue after Friday’s nor’easter that killed at least nine people. Forecasters say a new storm could drop 15- to 30-centimetres of snow on parts of the U-S Northeast, including the Boston and New York areas, tomorrow.
Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement for similar snow totals in New Brunswick and southern Quebec tomorrow into Thursday.
