In The News For Clarence Rockland — November 6, 2017

A 37-year-old man is dead after driving his pickup truck into a ditch south of Ottawa. O-P-P say the man was driving in Grenville County early Sunday morning when his vehicle left the roadway. Police are still trying to determine the cause of the accident. They did not immediately release the driver’s name.

 

 

Police say a man is in serious condition after being stabbed at a shelter in Ottawa. Officers who responded to the incident Saturday evening arrested a 49-year-old suspect. Ali Dakhil is facing multiple charges, including attempted murder and aggravated assault. He made his first appearance in court by video Sunday morning.

 

 

The trial of Basil Borutski, who is accused of killing three women in the Ottawa Valley, is set to continue today. The 59-year-old Borutski faces three counts of first-degree murder. He had relationships with all three of his alleged victims –. The bodies of the women were found on September 22nd, 2015, at three different locations. A video played in a recent court appearance showed Borutski telling a police interviewer that he felt sorry for the murders.
