Paramedics said they treated five people for overdoses on Saturday at the Ottawa Escapade music festival, being held at Lansdowne. One person was in critical condition, while another was in serious condition due to a drug called, ‘GHB.’ Paramedics took to social media on Saturday to issue a warning to those choosing to use drugs as part of the celebrations.
A man in his 80s was rushed to hospital on Sunday after he was found unresponsive in an Orleans pool at a home near Jeanne D’Arc and Des Epinettes. Bystanders were performing CPR on the man until paramedics took over. The man was taken to hospital and is in critical condition.
Hawkesbury OPP are looking to the public for help following a suspicious fire last week, Wednesday at approximately 2:30 a.m. at the back of a residence of Dufferin Street in Hawkesbury. Items that were kept outside a single home property were intentionally set on fire. The OPP is interested in speaking to witnesses who would have observed any suspicious activities in the area.
And his past weekend Members of the Hawkesbury OPP Detachment hosted a BBQ to raise funds for the 17 health programs supported by the Federated Health Charities Campaign. The event was held at the Hawkesbury General Hospital, Mental Health and Addiction Regional Centre.
