Shackstock, a Celebration Of Music, & Life, took place last month in Rockland. The music festival had been held for several years in Clarence Creek organized by The Shackleton Family. Due to co-organizer David Shackleton’s battle with cancer, both Lyne & David Shackleton sadly decided to cancel the event.
After hearing the news, Brad Larocque, General Manager of Boston Pizza Rockland, knew he had to do something. “Both Lyne & David have done so much for the community. We have to do something to keep the event going,” said Larocque.
Boston Pizza Rockland teamed up with Jewel 92.5 to move the festival from Clarence Creek to the restaurant the weekend of July 22, and July 23. In keeping with the original theme, Shackstock featured live music both days from 12pm-10pm, bringing together over 15 performers who donated their time, and talent for Ovarian Cancer Canada, and The Shackleton Family. The restaurant also donated a portion of food sales during Shackstock
The final total was released late Thursday, and Larocque couldn’t be happier noting the event raised closed to $2,400, which will be split between The Shackleton Family, and Ovarian Cancer Canada.
“A huge thank you to everyone. We couldn’t have done this if it wasn’t for this amazing community that we live in,” said Larocque.
