The Clarence-Rockland Public Library’s Little Libraries in Clarence Creek & Saint Pascal Baylon

The Clarence-Rockland Public Library is proud to offer two new “Little Library” boxes which provide free books to all members of the community.  The book boxes have been installed at the entrance of the Clarence Creek arena and at the entrance of l’École élémentaire catholique Du Rosaire in Saint-Pascal-Baylon.

Patrons are encouraged to visit the boxes often to pick up a new book without having to return it.  A variety of books for all age groups are being offered in both English and French.  Staff from the Library will monitor the boxes and add new books when necessary. The public is encouraged to leave books for others to read if they want.  That way books will always be new and relevant!

The Library is also running a small contest to promote the use of the “Little Library”.  Users are encouraged to take a selfie with one of the boxes and post it to one of the Library’s social media accounts (Facebook and Twitter).  Participant’s names will then be entered into a draw for a prize.  The contest will run for the whole months of September and October and the draw will be made on November 1st, 2018.

“One of the Library’s main goals is to make books available to as many people in our community as possible.” stated Catherina Rouse, CEO of the CRPL.  “Having these ‘Little Library’ boxes available in both Clarence Creek and Saint-Pascal-Baylon makes it easier for everyone in Clarence-Rockland to access books to either help with the development of reading for school aged children or for adults to sit back and relax with a good book.  The Clarence-Rockland Public Library makes every effort to become a community destination to learn, discover, imagine and play.”
