Many are still working through their New Year’s Resolution to lose some weight, and get in shape for spring. Some are working out daily at the gym, others are settling for a glass of red wine, which has the same effects of going to the gym. According to a new study, A Glass Of Red Wine Is Equivalent To An Hour At The Gym!
The study conducted by the University of Alberta has concluded that red wine contains a compound named resveratrol, which is the similar to what your body produces when you exercise.
Resveratrol is compound that is present in the skin of red grapes, blueberries, peanuts, and certain other berries. It is known to be an effective antioxidant that most plants produce to protect themselves from environmental hazards. The skin of red grapes have a high resveratrol content, which keeps away sun damage and fungal diseases. Red wine is known to contain more resveratrol than white wine-about 1 to 2 mg per 8 ounces.
