Los Angeles, California resident Brian McCarthy received the shock of his life over the Christmas holiday when his family received a waffle maker from Amazon that had an old, crusty waffle inside. He immediately tweeted the company to shame them for their poor quality control.
An Amazon representative responded, “We’re sorry to see the condition this item arrived in. It’s certainly not the experience we strive for!”
After this story went viral, McCarthy also received a follow up from the company, ” “We work hard to provide customers with a great experience and regret this situation did not live up to our high standards. This item was sold as ‘used,’ but clearly should not have been sold at all. Due to human error, it was not properly inspected after being returned by another customer. We are working directly with the customer to address this situation.”
Brian insists that the product was not advertised as being used, and has a receipt to prove it.
