The Northside Cafe, in Winterset, Iowa, has published a coronavirus cookbook called ”The Novel Coronavirus Cookbook”.
It contains 19 recipes that are all made with Corona beer. A portion of the proceeds for the $30 cookbook are going to help other struggling local restaurants.
The families, kids and all, came up with the recipes, tested them, photographed the food and wrote the instructions. The book also contains a gift certificate of a Northside Cafe tenderloin, some history of the town and how the pandemic affected it.
The book not only helps the family, but some profits will be shared with other struggling restaurants.
“We have a lot of mouths to feed, with our family, with our staff,” Michele Jahncke, co-owner of the Northside Cafe said.
“We know everyone at home has a lot of mouths to feed. So this way they can still be doing that. If you purchase one book and were to make 19 meals you would actually be buying $450 worth of ingredients not counting a case of beer, and so that is stimulating the economy even bigger than just here.”
